Bloommiami Welcomes Geraldine Pichardo

We're proud to announce that Geraldine Pichardo has joined our growing team at Bloommiami! Originally from Caracas, Venezuela, Geraldine first moved to the U.S. ten years ago for an English immersion program, and has since lived all across the country—from Pennsylvania to California. Armed with innate artistic and sketching skills, she pursued a BFA in Interior Design from Savannah College of Art and Design in Georgia. She then gained experience working with Alejandro Barrios Carrero at ABC Studios and the Oliver Cole Gallery based in Miami’s Wynwood.

Geraldine was drawn to Bloommiami for our integration of user experience with architecture, design, branding, and marketing. Driven by the belief that design can solve worldwide human problems, she’s passionate about using her skillset for positive social change, with an emphasis on education. She’s excited to dive into materiality and learn more about the execution of conceptual ideas. Welcome to the Bloommiami team, Geraldine!

Getting to Know Geraldine:
Advice for newbies in this field?  If you’re sick of the long hours in your studio courses, then this is not the career for you. It will become who you are, so you can’t view it as a sacrifice. If it already feels that way in school, you’re in the wrong field.

If you could choose anyone, who would you select as your mentor?  Stephen Hawking. I’ve always been interested in space/physics and I read A Brief History of Time. Someone who has mastered the subject of space and physics so well that he’s able to explain it to others, in a way non-scientists can understand, is someone worth having as a mentor.

Liquor of choice?  Tequila

Favorite design program?  Indesign

Hidden talents?  I'm a really good salsa dancer.

If you could pick a superpower, what would it be?  Beyonce’s voice. That’s a superpower to me!

When was the last time you laughed so hard you cried?  I was watching The Office last week, the "Stress Relief" episode. It’s the one where Dwight locks everyone in the office and starts a trash can fire and then pandemonium breaks out…the moment Angela gets her cat out of the drawer...I literally ended up on the floor from laughing so hard!

What’s your favorite line from a film?  “I guess I could be pretty pissed off about what happened to me…but it’s hard to stay mad when there is so much beauty in this world.” –American Beauty
